Model Airplane News April, 1953 SAAB 210 "Draken" Model Airplane News Cover Art for April, 1953 by Jo Kotula Click to Enlarge The Saab 210 Draken ("Dragon") was a scaled-down testbed for the double-delta concept in the development of the Saab 35 Draken fighter. Although never officially named anything but Draken by Saab, it soon became known by its unofficial nickname Lilldraken ("Little-Dragon", or "Mini-Dragon"); Its first flight was on January 21, 1952 During Stockholm's 700 year celebrations 1n June of 1953 the SAAB 210 performed an air show over central Stockholm.
