Zones Photo ContestZone Mystery Photo Contest
Hi Lindy Hoppers!!!
Who are these people?
Greg and the Girls
Greg, the Manager
Chris Bamberger, Greg and Deb Brooks

Carole and I went to Zones last Friday, and we had a great time. We want to make special note of the benefits of hitting Zones after the more traditional places close! As we said, last week (and will continue to say: Think about words to Lullaby of Broadway and get out into the middle of the "Hi-De-Ho" and "Boop-de-boop" until the "Milkman's on his way." We had a great time and we had fun doing this photoessay on the scene at Zones, and we thank Greg (the manager) for all his help in making this a real swing scene.

This is a CONTEST. To wit, there are so many new people on the scene that we don't know them all --- yet.

We took a lot of photos, but we haven't a clue as to the names of the persons in said photographs. So, check out the photos below and "Identify the Mysterians" by sending an e- mail to Frank and Carole. If you don't know who the people are, well, then make up some names, but be funny.

DISCLAIMER: Everyone dances with everyone else! We just took snapshots while people were dancing. A photo here only indicates that people were dancing. No relationship is implied! Geez, we don't want to give Koerner any professional business...

Debra Pretzel
Teaching the Pretzel
That's Debra on the Left

One of the real good signs that Zones is developing Swing Culture is that people are starting to ask for help with dance moves. This fellow was from a couple who were interested in "learning anything". Carole and I showed them the Texas Tommy and some of our other simple things. Then, out of the blue came a specific request for the Pretzel. We immediately deferred to Debra, the reigning expert on the subject.

The young non-hirsute gentleman on the left is Gideon (sorry, I don't know his last name) -- he just finished up taking Tom & Debra's CCB beginners class and is now taking intermediate. I'm not sure about the gal -- she looks like someone from class, but Gideon always has so many females in tow... He's a great guy and very enthusiastic dancer.
Cheers,

From: Gideon Killion

Hi. I'd like to identify myself. (love your site, btw.)

My name is Gideon Killion, and I am the bald guy in Mystery Photo #1. And yes, you have seen me at CCB, where I am in T&D's intermediate class. The young woman's name is Amber, if I am not mistaken, and that was her first and last time swing dancing. She did pretty well, too.

I always enjoy watching the two of you dance, and thank you for all you do to foster the lindy-hop cult.
Take Care,
---Gideon

I think the gentleman on the right is named Alan -- I believe he takes lessons from Tom & Debra at America. I danced with him at Glen Echo (Hula Monsters). Very nice guy.
