On July 18, 2003, the Eight Week Wonders put on a birthday celebration for Tom Koerner at Chevy Chase Ballroom. At the second break, we interrupted a hot performance by Pittsburgh's Boilermaker Jazz Band to pay a little birthday tribute to Tom. Sue and Karyn spent some time making little "Party Hats" (that looked suspiciously like bald spots) that were worn by most of the 200+ attendees at the dance. The entertainment featured a video of Tom's "Deer in the Headlights" performance at the WRCTV Health Fair. (In this video, he forgets the Five Weeks routine while the team dances around him.)

This was all in good fun, and everyone had a good time stuffing themselves on three huge birthday cakes. And, from everyone in the Eight Week Wonders, "Thanks for a great year".
